Continuous Positive Airway Pressure
Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) is often the treatment of choice for people who have been diagnosed with OSA/OSAHS. This treatment works by blowing pressurised room air into the airway (via a mask) to stop the airway from narrowing or closing during sleep.
Once the CPAP starts to treat the OSA/OSAHS, sleep usually returns to normal and (any) symptoms start to improve. For CPAP to be effective it needs to be used every night.
Baywater Healthcare work as a partnership with NHS services to provide CPAP therapy at home. Your clinician will refer you to Baywater Healthcare if we provide the service for your local hospital. Once you have been referred, Baywater Healthcare will contact you about your equipment.
