Baywater Healthcare Christmas Message

21st December 2022

As we enter the Christmas period and 2022 draws to a close, we would like to reflect on the latest year here at Baywater Healthcare. This year has seen us continue delivering our contracts, providing life-enhancing services to our patients. We continued to develop our offerings, including our Remote Monitoring solution. We were delighted that our Virtual Ward received two award nominations during the year.

This year has seen us continue our commitment to sustainability and improving the environment that we operate in. We are proud to continue being a Carbon Neutral organisation – we offset 1,766 tonnes of CO2 via registered UK tree planting schemes and two projects through the Gold Standard Scheme – Cleaner and Safer Stoves in Malawi and Cleaner, Safer Water in Cambodia. These projects align with nine of the UN Sustainability Goals.

We introduced hybrid vehicles for our company car fleet, which has already resulted in a 16% reduction in CO2 emissions. To reduce the carbon impact from our premises, we switched all of our electricity supplies to renewable sources. This has helped us reduce the carbon footprint for all locations.

We have continued to work with the Cheshire Community Foundation and sit on their Advisory Panel for the Crewe fund. Our involvement with the Foundation enables us to ensure funding reaches highly deserving charitable causes within the local community. Check out the article that we released earlier in the year to read about some of the charities that we have supported –

We refurbished and donated oxygen concentrators to developing world countries. We also donated concentrators to Staffordshire University for use in a state-of-the-art simulated learning suite on their Stafford Campus. We continue to support several food banks across our operating regions with ongoing grocery donations and provision of home appliances. In November, we agreed to join forces with the Lyceum Theatre in Crewe, enabling them to perform a ‘relaxed’ performance of Aladdin. This inclusive show, the first of its kind at the theatre, will allow children with learning difficulties to attend the pantomime with special sensory consideration for the audience and their needs.

We have engaged with many awareness and well-being events throughout the year. Events included our annual Safety Week, World COPD Day, International Women’s Day, and Pride Month. During all these campaigns, we shared key messages with our staff, aligning with our company values.

We were delighted to reach 1000 Followers on our Facebook profile. We aim to continue to grow on our social media platforms so that we can share our messages with as many people as possible.
