Walking and/or Cycling
Recommendations for resistance exercise for individuals with COPD:
Frequency: 3-5 days per week
Intensity: Light to moderate intensity (based on the individual’s shortness of breath)
Time: Intermittent exercise for 5-10 minutes (followed by periods of rest). Gradually, the individual will increase the duration until they can achieve continuous aerobic exercise of 20 minutes.
Type Of Exercise: Walking and /or Cycling.
It is strongly recommended that you consult with your physician before beginning any exercise or exercise programme. Always seek guidance from a qualified exercise trainer and exercise safely at all times.
