International Women’s Day

8th March 2022

Today is International Women’s Day. International Women’s Day is a global event celebrated annually on March 8th to recognise the cultural, political, and socioeconomic achievements of women. Throughout the day we are celebrating all of the amazing women who are a part of our team at Baywater Healthcare.

Let’s take a moment on this day to celebrate some of the incredible women in our company.

Jenny, Commercial and Clinical Director

Jenny moved to her new role as Commercial and Clinical Director at the end of last year. Jenny is a registered nurse who has been at the company for 17 years, excelling in numerous roles. Jenny has a passion for supporting individuals to continually develop and exceed in whatever role they have.

“I started my career as a registered nurse working in acute medicine and specialising in respiratory care. I joined Baywater in 2005 when the Home Oxygen Service was started as a Regional Nurse Advisor for the East Midlands. Since then, I’ve moved through roles such as Senior Nurse Advisor, Stakeholder Manager, Contracts Manager, Business Development Manager, Sales and Marketing Manager and then Commercial and Clinical Manager.

Throughout my time at Baywater I have used my clinical knowledge to ensure that patients are at the heart of everything that we do, as well as using my commercial acumen to make sure the organisation is successful.

I’m very proud to be part of Baywater working in an organisation that cares about individuals and equality. Our recruitment and development policies mean that everybody has the opportunity to reach their potential.

Today, my thoughts are with women around the world who do not share such freedoms. I’m grateful for the leadership, support, commitment, focus and good humour that I see every day across the organisation from everyone that I work with.”

Ceri, Contracts Manager

Ceri joined us in 2019 and has been key in the management of our Home Oxygen contracts. Ceri recently started managing her own team with two administrators supporting the contractual delivery of the Home Oxygen Services.

“I was heavily involved in the transition of the North West region in 2020, and currently, I manage the delivery of the Home Oxygen contract across four regions, which equates to 30,000 patients and over 2000 Healthcare Professionals.

My role requires me to check our practices and processes align with the contract and the management of NHS and patient expectations. I monitor performance against KPIs and introduce development and innovation where possible. I liaise with most teams and individuals across Baywater on a daily basis, teams that work hard every day to maintain an excellent service for our patients.

The most important things in my role are managing expectations and building relationships with key stakeholders and colleagues. Every day is different and challenging, but that makes it all the more interesting.”

Annemarie, Healthcare Technician – North Midlands

Having now been with us for six months, Annemarie’s popularity amongst her colleagues and with our patients has been clear to see, receiving many complimentary comments about the quality of service that Annemarie has provided.

“I’ve been with Baywater since September 2021. The most important things to me about my role are helping people lead a normal life despite having oxygen, also going that extra mile to help patients. You could be the only person that they see throughout the day and it’s nice to have a chat, have a cup of tea and see them smile.”
