Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week

8th February 2022

This week is National Apprenticeship Week. At Baywater Healthcare, the apprenticeship scheme is something that we value very highly.

When we offer apprentices to individuals, we commit to offering them training and expert knowledge to develop the apprentice’s skills with the aim of them becoming full-time members of our team. We have recruited a number of apprentices with the aim of them being offered permanent roles within our company over the last five years. We are also proud to announce that we are engaged in the new T Level scheme. Recently welcoming two new recruits on a T Level apprenticeship to our IT team. Alongside recruiting new apprentices, we also offer all our employees the opportunity to take on apprenticeships to develop their roles and learn valuable new skills with 17 staff members currently undertaking an apprenticeship.

We have actively recruited apprentices for over five years, increasing the number disciplines available for people to enhance their skills and knowledge. Apprentices are not just aimed at young people although we do offer school leaver opportunities every year. We utilise the apprenticeship levy to inspire, motivate and give our colleagues the opportunity to learn. This has enabled employees to broaden their experience within the company into areas that ordinarily we would have recruited outside. We believe these benefits both the individual and the business. Our commitment to apprenticeships is also a commitment to the communities we operate in, by investing in local talent, we are upskilling the local workforce which in turn creates a more sustainable economy.
