You may have recently seen an article on the BBC News showcasing a COVID Virtual Ward that we have been working with. We have now hit a milestone of over 4,800 patients being monitored through the Virtual Ward.
The pandemic has been a challenging time for our NHS. It has led to a significant increase in hospital admissions, with numbers rising again during the Omicron B variant of the virus. The Virtual Ward was set up to support people who have tested positive for COVID-19 in their own homes. Patients are monitored through pulse oximeter readings; the information recorded from the readings is used to offer vital specialist support towards patients making a full recovery after being diagnosed with COVID-19.
The Virtual Ward is simple and fast to set up. It offers a cost-effective and easy to commission solution to support our NHS with the pressures it’s facing during this challenging time.
