Inogen One troubleshooting

Low priority alert

A low priority alert message is accompanied by a double beep and a solid yellow light. Ensure that the battery is fully charged and or the unit is plugged in.

Medium priority alert

Medium priority alerts are accompanied by a triple beep, repeated every 25 seconds, and a flashing yellow light.

High priority alert

High priority alert messages are accompanied by a five beep pattern, repeated every 10 seconds, and a flashing red light.

Error message: External power low

Probable cause

External power supply is too low to run the unit which is running on battery power despite being plugged in.

Solution

Check external power supply connections. If condition persists please call us.

Error message: External power high warning

Probable cause

External power supply is too high.

Solution

Check external power supply connections. If condition persists please call us.

Error message: Battery low attach plug

Probable cause

Battery is low with less than 10% remaining.

Solution

Attach external power supply or power down and insert a fully charged battery.

Probable cause

Battery error has occurred.

Solution

Switch to a new battery or remove battery and operate concentrator using external power supply. If battery error persists, please call us.

Error message: Oxygen low see manual

Probable cause

Concentrator is producing oxygen at a slightly low level.

Solution

If condition persists please call us.

Error message: Remove battery to cool

Probable cause

Battery has exceeded its charging temperature and charging has stopped.

Solution

The battery will not charge while this alert is present but will begin to charge when the battery temperature returns to the normal operating range. If battery charging is desired sooner, remove the battery from the unit and allow it to cool in an open area for approximately 15 minutes. Then re-insert the battery into the Inogen One. If the problem persists please call us.

Probable cause

Concentrator is producing oxygen but cannot report battery status.

Solution

Replace battery. If condition persists please call us.

Error message: Service needed

Probable cause

The concentrator needs servicing at the earliest convenience.

Solution

The concentrator is operating to specification and may continue to be used. Call us to arrange a service.

Error message: o2 sensor fail see manual

Probable cause

The concentrators oxygen sensor had malfunctioned.

Solution

You may continue to use the concentrator. If the condition persists please call us.

Error message: Battery hot

Probable cause

The battery has exceeded its temperature limit while the Inogen is running on battery power.

Solution

If possible, move Inogen to a cooler location or power unit with an external power supply and remove battery. If condition persists please contact us.

Error message: No breath detected check cannula

Probable cause

Cannula/tubing not connected correctly.

Solution

Check cannula/tubing connection, reattach if necessary.


Probable cause

Cannula/tubing is kinked or blocked.

Solution

Check condition of tubing and cannula, remove obstructions if present.


Probable cause

Cannula not placed correctly in nose.

Solution

Reposition cannula in nose.

Error message: Check tubing connections

Probable cause

Cannula/tubing not connected correctly.

Solution

Check cannula/tubing connection, reattach if necessary.

Error message: System error see manual

Probable cause

Concentrator is experiencing an error, but is capable of continued operation.

Solution

Remove and re-insert battery, and/or check external power supply connections. If condition persists please call us.

Error message: Oxygen error service needed

Probable cause

Oxygen output concentration is below 50%.

Solution

If condition persists, switch to your back-up supply and call us.

Error message: Battery hot shut down/system hot shut down

Probable cause

Battery/concentrator has exceeded temperature limit.

Solution

If possible, move concentrator to a cooler location, then turn power off and back on. Ensure air intake and outlet vents have clear access and particle filter is clean. If condition persists please call us.

Error message: Battery empty attach plug

Probable cause

Concentrator has insufficient battery power to function.

Solution

Attach external power supply or exchange battery, then restart unit.
